Uses
DIAFOODS THICK IT brings the joy of eating back to people with swallowing problems (called 'Dysphagia'). When mixed with hot or cold, thick or thin liquids and pureed foods, DIAFOODS THICK-IT produces any desired consistency quickly, easily and controllably without changing the taste or appearance of the liquids and foods it thickens. DIAFOODS THICK-IT adds 35 calories per 2 tablespoons for nourishment and it is low in sodium. It helps prevent dehydration because it does not bind fluids. DIAFOODS THICK-IT is recommended by doctors, speech-language pathologists and dietitians for patients in hospitals, nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities as well as at home.

Directions
Sprinkle in DIAFOODS THICK-IT while stirring briskly until dissolved. Or use a hand mixer or blender at low speed for no more than 5-10 seconds. DO NOT OVERMIX. After mixing, wait 30 seconds for liquid to thicken. ADA EXCHANGE: 1 Tablespoon of DIAFOODS THICK-IT = 1/3 fruit exchange = 4 g carbohydrates (metabolized like fruit sugar).
